Cultural Aspects of a Russian TV Show

I watched the first episode of the Russian Tv Show which is a crime drama called Fury. I watched the episode on YouTube with English subtitles.

The show’s cultural aspects are it is a crime drama that takes place in a typical Russian city. The main character is a cop that is portrayed as a tortured soul that is a drunk but a good guy that used unorthodox methods to fight crime.

The characters lived in a typical city with buses, taxis, and a lot of people moving about. The characters opted for tea instead of coffee but worked in a typical-looking police building with offices and cubicles with a lot of signage. There was a scene in a billiard/bar so the people play pool and drink alcohol. There was another scene that showed a recreational area for playing tennis. The weather seemed like a season of higher temperatures since there were many fans shown throughout the building, The characters had similar values to the United States; they fought crime and had busy cities with busy people.

The natural landforms seemed typical with streets, roads, stores, cars, and greenery. There were an office building and a police building. The economy was important as there was a scene that a cop mentioned his salary and his need to be able to feed his child. There were many mentions of politics, as many of the characters spoke of changing positions, demotions and promotions.

The Russian crime drama seemed very similar to American crime dramas, I often thought of similarities the show had to CSI, FBI, or NYPD Blue.
