The Beauty of communication

This week we read chapter two in our books, this week’s theme was communication. This Waklet contains the educational technology mentioned in the chapter. I found Microsoft translator to be the most interesting to me. This can be incredibly useful to students who don’t speak English or maybe an American student who doesn’t speak the language native to their location. The book mentions an example about a teacher that had to navigate around a very diverse population that included several different languages. The teacher in this example used Microsoft translator to reach the parents of his students. I think this is extremely important, not only parent-teacher communication but parent involvement in student education. There are many parents who only speak one language and their children speak two or more due to where they grew up and the environment they are involved in. So being able to communicate with parents if there is a language barrier is very important and Microsoft translator can help. I knew translators existed but the Microsoft translator seems very streamlined and sophisticated. I looked forward to exploring it further.
