4 Activities Teachers can use with Google Meet

In this time during virtual everything teachers need to be familiar with technology, especially Google. Google Meet is more than video conferencing, Google Meet has many useful features to assist in the ultimate virtual connection.

1- Use a virtual whiteboard in a video meeting:

  • At the bottom right, click More options
  • Select Whiteboard
  • Choose Start a new whiteboard

2- Conduct a poll during a video meeting

  • “From a video meeting, at the top, click Activities and then Polls.
  • Click Start a poll. 
  • Enter a question and add options for the poll.
  • Choose an option:
  • To post your poll, click Launch.
  • To save your poll so you can launch it later, click Save.”

3- Use breakout rooms in a video meeting –only for moderators 

  • ‘From a video meeting, at the top, click Activities and then Breakout rooms
  • Click Set up breakout rooms “”.
  • Choose the number of breakout rooms (up to 100 breakout rooms)’

4- Present during a video meeting

  • ‘Join a video meeting.
  • On the bottom, select Present now Share screen .
  • Select Your entire screen, A window, or A tab.
  • If you present a Chrome tab, it shares that tab’s audio by default.
  • To present a different tab, select the tab you want to present, click Share this tab instead.
  • Select Share.’
