HyperDocs

For this week’s blog post, I learned what a HyperDoc was. These are great tools to get students engaged in content work and collaborating with other students. When researching, I found an example using this link.

Check out this Youtube video on why HyperDocs are important in the classroom. Youtube Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-bPHZTRCfg

The example I found by searching #hyperdocs on Twitter was perfect because my future goal is to be an English teacher. The main goal of this HyperDoc is to eliminate boring textbooks in the classroom by making reading fun and engaging. Students can choose to listen to audio texts, watch videos, and more by using this HyperDoc. The HyperDoc that I found even had essential questions written in the beginning so students knew what the main purpose was behind this reading. The link to the HyperDoc that I am referencing can be found here.

I think that it is important for teachers to include HyperDocs in their curriculums because they are engaging and motivating. Students are given the opportunity to learn something in a different, unique way. Also, I believe that a HyperDoc is useful for all different learners. Auditory learners have the ability to hear or watch different texts, while those who are linguistic learners can use the journal to complete their work. I plan to use this in my future classroom because it includes all learners, and gives them a different perspective to novels than just reading a paperback and answering discussion questions.
