After browsing the global educator toolkit I came across the website Empatico. Empatico is a organization that connects classrooms around the world. Classes that sign up get paired up with a class from another part of the world. The classes are then able to message each other, collaborate on activities, and even video chat. This allows students to be introduced to different people and cultures, which can be very beneficial to them in the long run. The world is a very large place full of diverse people, Introducing children different cultures at a young age will allow them to interact with people who are different from them. As an aspiring history educator I would definitely use this service in my classroom. For example if my class was studying the Revolutionary War, I would pair up with a class from the United Kingdom. This would allow my students to learn about the war from a different perspective. In summary, Empactico is helping classrooms connect all over the world.
