Creating a global classroom

In today’s world, you can do almost anything on the internet. It is a tool in itself. The internet is available for a lot of students and can be a positive addition to any lesson. The organization P.A.C.I.E (Pennsylvania Council for International Education) has multiple resources that give ideas of how to use the internet to make your classroom more global.

One tool that I find especially useful for creating a global classroom is the website called globaledguide.com. On this website, you can find different projects to do in your classroom with other educators around the world. Not only is it a tool for educators to teach with other global teachers, but for students to learn about differences in the world. There are tons of projects that have to do with collaborating with art, writing, and history etc.

I would like to use this tool in my own classroom. I find it beneficial for students to learn about different cultures and people in school, especially in k-8. Students should learn about others to then become more accepting and inclusive of others. Kids’ minds are like puddy at a young age and they can be easily molded. To create a more diverse and accepting world, we need to start with the children. By using this tool, kids can learn about how different students live in other parts of the world. I would use this tool in my classroom to teach my students to be accepting of all people.
