How a virtual whiteboard works

The virtual whiteboard is accesed through Whiteboard.chat and is a web-based platform. This technology is free to use and does not require a strong internet connection. This is designed to mimic how it would be in a real classroom setting, each student has their own whiteboard and the teacher can monitor all of them at once to see their work that is being done.

Small-Group support

The teacher can split the class into small groups or breakout rooms, there they can all collaborate on the same whiteboard and still have the ability to use their individual one. In the rooms, they also have access to the chat function.

Activities:

-Brainstorm ideas

-Make a list of questions as they read a passage or article together

-List recommendations for books or podcasts

Using a virtual whiteboard

On Whiteboard.chat you can give students the ability to capture and share ideas, draw shapes using the pen tool, and add images to the background of a lesson. Students can work on problems, record notes, and keep a list of their ideas that were made during class. Teachers can then save all the whiteboards to use for examples in a future class.
