How it may be time to rethink the Education System.

This article I found on Twitter talks about how the education system has remained the same for years, while there are many new technological advances. It brings up in the beginning how Elon Musk did not like the way his children were being taught so he started his own school. The school Ad Astra focuses on Musk’s belief to “teach to the problem, not the tools.” The way it was explained just made sense to me that we need to focus more on the bigger picture of things.

The main part of the article basically states how can we prepare young minds when no one knows what the future will be like? It is a pretty crazy question to consider how much man has evolved and made resources available to people to do unthinkable things like going to Mars or driverless taxis. It feels like everything in this day and age has updated technology wise besides the education system. Getting older I personally have struggles adapting to new technology and so many different things used now its overwhelming. At first young and growing up around it it was easy to keep up, now I just feel out of loop of things.

The video explains how the Education System was made during the Industrial Age and was originally for factory workers and how there are 6 very big problems with how the Education System is now in a developed modern world. I never realized things like always having to take orders all day at school or having a set schedule at school could later pose issues for students in the future since the Education System was made originally for workers, but surprisingly seems to be an issue now.
