We-Education for a brighter future!

I recently learned about a website/community called we-schools! I really like it because the website’s purpose is to support students and give teachers the tools necessary to teach lessons in social and emotional learning. Social and emotional learning can be categorized as learning about inclusion, mental health, anti-bullying, environmental issues, etc. All of these lessons are extremely important to creating emphatic and compassionate people. I believe that students should learn more than just how to pass a test in school.

*highlighted in yellow is the title I will be discussing

On the menu for the website, there are 5 titles to choose from. Each title has tools for teachers/ students to access. The title I focused on is WE wellbeing. There is tons of material for lessons that can teach students about mental health and general well-being.

It is also a cool feature that you can pick and choose what grade levels you will be teaching. This is good because you want to teach age-appropriate material. There is also material for students to take home so their guardians can also benefit from the lesson. I believe that making sure that students have good mental health is important to make sure they can be their best selves inside and outside the classroom.

There are so much rich information and useful stuff on this website. I would recommend everyone to check it out. Not only is it good for lesson planning, but it is also beneficial for adults to learn more. I cannot wait to use these lessons to spark meaningful conversations in my classroom, and hopefully, my students will share their knowledge with others.
