Global Kids Activity Set

This week I looked into an activity from a global educators toolbox and what tool really stood out to me which was the Global Kids Activity Set. This is a set of cards which give examples of hands on activities you can do in your classroom to learn about different countries and cultures. As the set covers over 50 countries and cultures and also gives out a first day of school activity. Below is the introduction video to the Global Kids activity set.

This can be used in a middle school social studies classroom by learning about different parts of the world and cultures while doing a fun activity getting students out of their seats. One card for example is a curling activity. I love watching curling in the olympics as it is popular in other places it is not really a popular activity in the United States. I think it would be a fun Friday activity after learning about the game of curling and its history getting the students up and playing for a little bit.

Global kids activity set also stood out to me because it was one of the few that did not have the use of technology so it is a great thing to have for a day the internet fails. In classrooms you always have to be ready for everything one day you might have a activity planned all on the computer that is not working for the day. This allows you to instantly have a quick activity ready to go. Which also the students will enjoy as it is hands on and gets the kids active in the classroom.
