Overview

The Louvre is an art museum located in Paris, France. It is the most visited art museum and it is home to several famous paintings. The Mona Lisa is arguably one of the most famous paintings that is in the museum along with several others. I decided to take a virtual field trip to this museum because of how historic it is. I have always wanted to visit this museum in person. For the time being though, this virtual field trip of The Louvre was amazing. 

I accessed the virtual field trip using this link. The virtual field trip allows one to see the gardens, the palace, and collections. In the gardens is where the Carrousel Garden and Tuileries Garden are located. These are amazing places to visit when actually seeing The Louvre in person. The collections tab is exactly as the name suggests. This is where all of the paintings, textiles, sculptures, and all types of artwork are located in order to be viewed virtually. The palace is where the famous sculptures and paintings are located. Some works include The Wedding Feast at Cana which is the biggest painting in the museum.

The Palace

My favorite artworks were located in the palace. The first is The Mona Lisa. I think that it is one of the most iconic paintings ever created. I would love to see the world’s most popular painting in person one day. I think using The Louvre’s link to show the painting in an art history course would be ideal. Furthermore, I also enjoyed virtually seeing The Winged Victory of Samothrace. I remember seeing this in Beyonce and Jay-Z’s music video which was filmed in The Louvre.
