The article that I will be discussing throughout my blog post is about a new Microsoft Teams tool. The new “Reading Progress” tool essentially allows students to expand their reading skills.

Some cool features:

  • Analyze results for teachers to gain insight on performance and trends.
  • This tool is free for Teams for Education.
  • Teachers can create personalized reading assignments for individual students.

Furthermore, the article mentions that this tool is inclusive to all types of learners including English language learners and students who have disabilities such as dyslexia. This is wonderful because it will be a handy universal tool for educators to use. Oftentimes, it can be difficult to find resources that are useful for ELL students and students with disabilities. However, this free tool can be one that is used by all districts!

Essentially, this tool is great for education in an era where online learning is being heavily implemented. This tool is a right step in trying to fill some of the educational gaps that have occurred because of challenges faced by the pandemic. I am so appreciative of Microsoft for creating this amazing feature and I hope to utilize it one day in the classroom!

Talk to you all soon!
