Education Technology Tools in the Class Room

Posted by mosert on February 11, 2019 in Class Management, Class Post, Gen2108, Tech Ed |

I chose to do my post on Padlet.  In my research on their website, I discovered many ways to use this technology in the classroom and I can think of many additional ways to use it in my future classroom! From the first day of class, using it for icebreaker tools like “Two Truths and a Lie” to the last day of class to use it for student surveys to make the class a better place. On this website, they list 30 ways to use Padlet in the classroom.  I really like the idea of using this site for student portfolios, letting students post assignments to it, as well as letting students post tools they find helpful – it’s possible that they will find a tool I had not seen or did not know about and I will be able to learn something from them that I can potentially share with future classes. The other tool I really like are the exit tickets.  I think that it would be fun to let students come up with questions to be on the test by asking them at the end of class to provide one question they think should be on the test.

Here are two great video tutorials on how to use Padlet in the class room (one is in English one is in French)

Here is a short video I found on Youtube of a teacher showing her students using Padlet in the classroom

I did some research to find out exactly how other French teachers were using this program in their classrooms and found this lesson plan on common sense education

Have you used Padlet in your class? If so what were some of your applications?  If not, would you consider it? What feature makes you most likely to give it a chance?
