Feyt/Armstrong Award: best literary essay
The Feyt/Armstrong Award is named for Jennifer Feyt and Robert Armstrong, two outstanding LITT students who suffered untimely deaths while at Stockton.
Joseph Marthan Award: best shorter essay–five pages or less
The Joseph Marthan prize is given in memory of a fallen Stockton colleague—a dedicated teacher and friend.
Submission Guidelines
All entries must have been written for a LITT course during the current academic year, or as the final paper of previous Spring term. Senior Seminar papers are not eligible.
Papers should be submitted electronically:
- Remove identifying information (name, course, instructor, etc.) from the essay, but include the title.
- Include a cover page with the name of the award, your full name, essay title, course and term in which the paper was written, telephone number, and ‘Z’ number.
- Submit only one essay per contest.
Submit essay entries as email attachments (.doc, .docx, or PDF) to Brian Lyons (Brian dot Lyons at Stockton dot edu).
All Stockton students are eligible, as are non-matriculated students who have taken a Stockton LITT course this academic year.
Submission deadlines for the awards are in April. Watch the program Facebook page and Twitter feed for information.
