The job of an educator cannot be confined to a particular schedule or work shift. Much of the real work begins after the bell rings and the children are gone. The current state of education places a heavy burden on teachers, faculty and staff, with little reward. The path of an educator is an arduous one; it requires a passion for children and a desire to improve the communities we work/live in and society as a whole.
My adult path began as a soldier in the United States Army. My time there taught me discipline and gave me exposure to people from all over the country. This is where I began to understand the dynamics and structure of an organization and how people function in it. The experiences and knowledge gained during that time would prove to be life changing.
From there I returned home to begin my secondary education studies as a student at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Simultaneously, I was an employee of the Pleasantville School District and the Seaview Marriott. I also completed my commitment to the New Jersey Army National Guard as a Personnel Service Specialist. Its amazing how my life has progressively come full circle. I am now a post-graduate student at the “Distinctive” Stockton University, attending classes at Stockton Seaview Hotel and servicing students in the district where I was cultivated into the adult that I am today!
That’s not were it ends. I am fortunate enough to have my own business from a hobby I enjoy very much. As a videographer and audio/visual specialist for Coastal Media Solutions, I have been able to provide services for many business, organizations and individuals. I have worked with the City of Pleasantville, Egg Harbor Township Youth Organization, Hope for Liberia, Princess INC., Macedonia United Methodist Church and Harborfields, to name a few.
None of this labor has been without reward. I have recently remarried and share my life with a beautiful wife and four children. Our blended family is truly grounded by our religious beliefs and we continue to share with others, volunteer our time and are dedicated to seeing children from all over the Atlantic county area succeed. While the journey is not complete, I look forward to the next chapter that begins with becoming a great leader through the Stockton Organizational Leadership program!
