Amanda Copes

I am a proud alumna of Stockton University where I earned my B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology and then continued my education at West Chester University in PA where I earned my M.A. in Communication Disorders. I have been a licensed, certified speech-language pathologist for over 15 years, beginning my career as a school-based clinician before moving to higher education in 2011 when I joined the Stockton community as the director of the Stockton University Speech and Hearing Clinic. I am a person who enjoys life and all it has to offer; after all, happiness is a journey, not a destination. I take great pride in teaching and connecting with my students in ways that motivate them to be better versions of themselves as humans and as future speech-language pathologists. I also have a strong commitment to the families I serve within the Speech and Hearing Clinic, and I hope to continue fostering those relationships for many years to come. I feel very fortunate and humbled to be part of Cohort 3 – surrounded by “my people” and learning something new about myself as a leader with every conversation I have with my fellow classmates or my professors in the Ed.D. program. I know this program will help me take my job performance to the next level by enhancing the quality of the work I’m already doing. I believe it will also help me be a better person by teaching me about myself – my strengths and my weaknesses – and how to continue to cultivate and sustain relationships so that I too can continue to grow.
