Yesterday in Research I asked students to begin an analysis of Wikipedia. A student raised his hand and said, “Wikipedia is closed tomorrow in protest of SOPA.”
Interesting. In many ways, the Research course is a class on information management. You restrict portions of the web — Google, Wikipedia, Youtube — and operating procedures will change for me and my students. Same is true in the Irish class where we make frequent use of a range of images on the web (some perhaps with dubious copyright).
