Brittany Jenniss

Brittany Jenniss is Assistant Director of Academic Advising at Stockton University. She currently holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Capella University, a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Rowan University, and an Associate’s Degree in Literature from Atlantic Cape Community College. Mrs. Jenniss has worked in various capacities in the Center for Academic Advising. She began her work in the department by working on the Disengaged Adults Returning to College (DARC) grant in which she developed a program at Stockton titled “ReEngaging Adult Learners (REAL)” which provided textbooks, technology rentals, and tuition assistance to returning adult students who had not yet completed their Bachelors’ degrees. She began advising in 2015 and was promoted to Assistant Director in 2017. She advises several hundred students and serves as preceptor to many undecided and Health Science students. She works closely with students in academic jeopardy and developed a workshop course targeted to shepherd dismissed and reinstated students through their journey to good academic standing. Most recently, she serves as a project lead to bring the new Degree Works degree audit and advising software to Stockton. As a young adult, Mrs. Jenniss founded and managed a non-profit, competitive cheerleading organization for low income families. She considers leadership to be inherent to her character and has found herself in leadership positions throughout her life thus far. She is confident that this program will stretch her capacities and strengths as a leader to enable her to strive toward her greatest potential. In her spare time, she teaches Pre-K Children’s Church at Coastal Christian in her new hometown of Ocean City, New Jersey. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, hunting, and spending time with her niece and nephew.
