Special Collections in the Bjork Library, located on the ground floor of the library, has received several significant donations of South Jersey material over the last several years. In 2007 William W. Leap, past president of the Camden County Historical Society and noted local historian, donated his extensive collection of New Jersey historical materials to Stockton: 1,265 titles in a variety of formats (monographs, annuals, maps, atlases, newspaper and magazine articles). Since that initial gift, the Library has received important gifts pertaining to the Pinelands, especially the Buzby and Chew Collections, the Cape May Jazz festival, John Henry “Pop” Lloyd, research materials on archaeological studies within the Pine Barrens, and most recently the donation of over 10,000 titles in the David C. Munn Collection of Jerseyana. The current exhibition presents a small fraction of the rich material now available for study in Special Collections. If you enjoy it, consider stopping by Special Collections for a closer look.
This is the on-line exhibition that accompanies an exhibition of physical artifacts in the Bjork Library at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. The exhibition, created by seniors within the Literature program (see the About page for more information), opened April 22 and will run through July 2014.
