Hyperdocs

For this week’s blog post, I decided to explore a hyperdoc, about hyperdocs!

The post I explored is titled “How Hyperdocs Can Transform Your Teaching” by Jennifer Gonzalez.

Her article explains the many uses and benefits of hyperdocs in the classroom from a teacher’s perspective and also how someone would create a hyperdoc of their own using various models

She explains how the hyperdocs format offers a multimodality learning experience with less time spent mindlessly lecturing to facilitate better more engaged learning throughout a lesson as well as the ability to easily alter the content of a lesson depending on class reception quick and easy.

She also explains different models such as playlists for step-by-step learning. Self Paced Learning allows students to explore the path of the entire unit in the beginning for that to get a head start and practice content at their own pace. And Agendas which helps students stay organized and on top of assignments and due dates.

She also points out how hyperdocs can be used for things outside of lessons such as plans for substitute teachers, team documents to collaborate between teachers and classes, and resources for parents to use to see what their child is learning about and feel a part of their learning experience.

Overall the use of hyperdocs is something every teacher should take advantage of as it has a multitude of uses inside and outside of the classroom.
