Using Virtual Reality


Virtual Reality is something that everyone has at least heard about in 2023. In the last decade there has been leaps and bounds in the technology which had once been only in two dimensions to now having 4K resolution rendering and video capture. With the innovations made in 360 degree cameras and affordability advancements, almost anyone is able to create videos that can be viewed in a virtual reality space.

One of the most impactful aspects of this new technological evolution is described in this article by PBS describing how this tech can be used on a global scale. The main point of their article is the wonders that can be done through first person simulation of environments and places through the use of 3D walkthrough videos. This opens up the opportunity for collaboration across multiple disciplines for advancements as well as learning opportunities for students of all ages.

Discover VR is a software in coordination with Discovery and the many original sources which they produce. This is primarily meant for History and Science backgrounds and is a great resource for teachers in those fields.

Each of these programs offers unique opportunities for students and educators alike to interact and have experiences from places around the world and bring together the people of any nation.
