I explored WE’s website and found their We Embrace Anti-Racism resource. It is a campaign to tackle on racism and is split into three sections:
Teaching children the history and significance of racism will create a stronger and better world for our future generation. Children often hear what their guardians and other figures in their life say and pick up their views. Having children learn about this topic can prevent generational racism.
This resource has many exercises for students to fill out to identify racism. It provides great worksheets and discussion questions. This would be great to use in the classroom. Having group discussions and having the students collaborate will open up their views and further critical thinking.
Students at the end of the lesson will be more “knowledgeable about racism and understand that self-accountability and allyship are critical steps toward being anti-racist” according to WE’s lesson plan.
Thanks for reading!
