After reading Chapter 2 of Sail the 7 C’s, Microsoft’s Translator tool stood out to me the most. This tool isn’t just useful in the classroom, it’s useful to so many others. It is amazing how it eliminates a language barrier and allows conversation between anyone which results in clear communication.
Students can connect with one another no matter what language. It creates clarity between them. There’s a captioning and transcript tool that many students benefit from. Translator is also useful for teachers and parents. Teachers can use Translator to communicate with parents about their children if the said parent struggles with English.
In the section, “Let’s Get This Party Started: Communicating Using Microsoft Translator,” I read Kent School District has over 140 languages spoken. The teachers use this tool to their advantage. One student in this district spoke Chuukese. Not many people in the world can speak the language but thanks to Translator they successfully aided the student.
Microsoft Translator has many benefits and over 70 languages. They also created a mobile app which allows real-time conversations.
