The World Food Program is an amazing website that not only informs people about the war against hunger, but also creates a fun way for people to donate rice for free. Their mission is to inspire and mobilize people in the United States to support the mission of the U.N. World Food Program to end hunger.
The World Food Program encourages people to join their movement in fighting global hunger. Their movement to fight global hunger includes: developing and advocating policy, U.S. government funding, private sector fundraising, and marketing and communications.
Throughout this well designed website, you can explore and learn about the countries with hunger emergencies, the conflict of climate change, read about their own blog posts and videos, and many more. The most interesting part of this website is their Free Rice Quiz.
This is a simple multiple choice vocabulary quiz. For every correct answer you get, 10 grains of rice is donated for the UN World Food Program. Over 220 billion grains of rice have been donated through this game. The WFP delivers vital food and aid to the victims of conflict, extreme weather, and economic instability.
Another aspect to this website includes their hunger quiz. The goal of the quiz is to spread awareness about the hunger issue. I took the quiz myself and was surprised at some of the answers. From the quiz, I learned that WFP sometimes uses caravans of elephants to transfer food to the world’s hardest-to-reach places!
I hope you check out this website and play the Free Rice Quiz to help donate to this organization.
