The United States Institute of Peace is an organization that promotes numerous year round education for peace for students K-12.

Their goal is to promote peacebuilding among students and teachers through the use of events for students and workshops for teachers.

Some student events organized by the group include “Negotiating Israel-Lebanon Maritime Borders” which allows students to meet with a U.S. Presidential Coordinator to learn about trade agreements are made.

Another event is “Building Peace from the Inside Out“, an event that is co hosted with Catalyst for Peace that educates students on conflict analysis and conflict prevention.

For teachers, the USIP offers a series of workshops, online webinars, professional development sessions, global campus courses, and the Peace Teachers Program.

Overall the organization is a great resource for educators to use for helping teach their students about the importance of world relations and overall peace.
