Students get the opportunity to interact with other students their age from around the world. They get to talk with them in real time or through messages and learn about others culture. As well as using many different topics and activities to keep your students engaged in the conversations.

Having students in a program like this is a great opportunity. They learn how to interact with others who differ from them. Tools like communication and empathy are developed as well when using this service. When talking to other students from around the world, they learn how to communicate with each other. They will start to learn that not everyone communicates the same way and that they may have to change a couple of things so they can communicate easily.

One of the main goals of Empatico is to promote empathy in students. Using real time communication and video chats, allows for students to see real time what may be going on in these other children’s life and how it differs from their own. They will learn to grow empathy for different struggles these children may face. And their global awareness of events and problems around the world will grow.

Overall, Empatico is a great service for educators to start using in their classroom. Having experience first hand doing something like this, I learned a lot of things when talking with these other students. And I think it is a great idea for anyone to do it.
