A great educational tool I found is online books. With a single click, students can access thousands of books. They’re not only in English either! There are multi-language books for children globally. This website lists multiple links to access free online books.
The website also lists benefits to online books. Adults can read the books before buying for children, saves space in homes, saves money. Educators can also use this tool to their advantage. Some students may not have certain resources at home. Having their books online makes it accessible to all students.
This website also provides lesson plans and language resources to provide support for bilingual education. The website has links to inform others what being bilingual is, how to raise bilingual children, language development, activities and more for multicultural children.
I would use this tool in my classroom in many ways. If I had a student who was bilingual, I would use the links provided in the website to learn ways to help them and give them activities to do to help them succeed. I’d also use the website by having my students choose a book and fill out a reading log to document each book they have read.
Reading is the best fuel for a child’s mind. It is important children have access to books no matter where they are! With technology on the rise in younger kids, it’s best to utilize this tool to keep children on the right track.
