“Rolling Study Halls: turning bus time into learning time” is an article that discusses a new advances in technology and education. Buses equipped with wi-fi and technology devices allow students who do not have access to these learning tools at home to complete schoolwork on the bus. Unfortunately, many students do not have technology and wi-fi accessible to them in their homes due to the expenses. In addition to this many of these students have very long rides to school. Google volunteers and local educators in Caldwell County, NC teamed up to fight this issue and close the gap between children in poverty and children who are more fortunate. They installed wi-fi and provided technology on 11 buses. This proved to be very successful when homework completion and student engagement increased in classrooms. Seeing this incline caused teachers to be more willing to involved technology in their classroom. It is truly inspiring to see how with determination and the use of technology all children can receive the same quality of education.
