The International Baccalaureate is a great website for teachers to use in the classroom. This website shares helpful tips and tricks on how to improve students’ confidence, help with diversity, and especially how to teach during unexpected times such as COVID. Students need to feel safe to learn sufficiently. There is a link labeled, “Responding to student behaviors during times of crisis: guidance for educators of young children and adolescents.” In this part of the website, there are several reasons why students may feel unsafe and behaviors to look for during or before that time. I found this to be extremely helpful because it gives a lot of information on how to help children when they have these feelings. I will use this as a teacher to help ensure my students feel safe and can speak up if needed.
