Teaching Students to Collaborate Post Covid-19

Students are just now beginning to return to school post covid-19. Because they have not been in school with other students and had the opportunity to develop strong social skills. This article discusses different techniques and team building exercises to have the students collaborate in order to to make up for the social skills covid-19 took from them. One idea was to have the children play the game What Do You Meme? and have them come up with creative captions for the memes together to share with the class and chose a winner for each round. Students can also play Kahoot together to find commonalities among each other and give them the opportunity to bond. They can also play games such as 20 questions or would you rather. The final strategy is to put the students into groups and have them play a version of Guess who. In this version students are come up with a person, place, or thing along with three or more clues to present to the rest of the class and have them guess what your object is. This can be done through pictures on Google Slides or through talking. These are all good methods because they can be used for educational purposes or for fun. They give students the chance to collaborate and socialize with other students so that they will be able to work better in a more serious setting such as a group project.

This shows students working collaboratively in order to gain the social skills covid-19 stripped them of.
