Collaboration in the Classroom

There is so much importance in students having the opportunity to collaborate within the classroom. It allows them to bounce ideas off one another and understand other people’s perspectives. Students can work together to find the best solutions to problems. Working in groups on projects also allows students to talk to people they don’t normally speak to and possibly create some new friendships. Through substitute teaching, I have seen students’ desires to work together, and their love of playing educational games in class. With educational games, students can have fun competing, while also learning information in new ways. As discussed in Chapter 1 of the Perusall textbook, there’s so many different ways that students can collaborate in school. There’s programs such as Microsoft Teams, OneNote, Flipgrid, Skype and Skype Kahoot, Minecraft, and so many more.
