The WE Virtual Learning Center offers a variety of resources for teachers and students. During my exploration of the website, I found a series of lesson plans titled Act Today for a Bright Future. I was drawn to these lessons in particular because they aligned with my Global Goal Project: Sustainable Cities and Communities. In the lesson plan, students will explore what sustainability is to how we can achieve a green future.

I would use this in my classroom because it explores an issue that can be traced historically. I really like lesson three because it asks students to work together and investigate a city. With this type of assignment, I could have the students do a gallery with their work, allowing them to recognize their peer’s work, interact with one another, and learn more about different cities while only researching one themselves.

The WE Virtual Learning Center, lesson plans, is a great place to find resources when introducing students to global and local issues. They also offer resources for teachers regarding mental health, disabilities, bullying, and more.
