A Journey With HyperDocs

What Is A HyperDoc?

Hyperdocs are online documents that contain embedded links to blend learning and technology. A HyperDoc page will generally be aesthetically pleasing and offer a wide variety of links to explore and continue with the assignment. The benefits of these HyperDocs is that they allow students to explore the internet and use different resources with the dangers that may accompany surfing the web. HyperDocs don’t need to be strictly for teaching either! You can create ones that contain locations around the globe that you’d like to visit with brief explanations. There are no limits in creating HyperDocs and you can start right now.

What HyperDoc Did I Enjoy?

I personally enjoyed the HyperDoc “Using Lattitude + Longitutde” which focuses on the importance of understanding where you are and how latitude and longitude are used to determine the location of something. I enjoyed this HyperDoc in particular due to how it opens up the class for discussion early on and offers individual assignments for the students to work on. Additionally my favorite aspect of this HyperDoc in particular is that it has a link that leads to a page where students can ask questions to clarify instructions or any other problems they may be having. By incorporating hands on, visual, and audio forms of learning many different types of learners are accommodated.
