Smithsonian’s National Zoo site allows you to a virtual tour of the Zoo with a few focus cameras. You have your choice of Pandas, Cheetahs, Mole rats, Lions, and Elephants. Not unlike the Zoo their ability to hide may be a factor. I initially chose the lions and was a bit disappointed to see they were camera shy. However regardless of the live cams the site still offers a media rich trip around nature. You can learn history of the Zoo and animals. Or engage in a 45 minute learning session all from the comfort of… anywhere with an internet connection really.
