Magical Andes is a Spanish documentary on Netflix about the many different cultural groups living within or around the Andes Mountains in South America. This documentary was a fantastic watch. It provided a great insight into how these different groups of people live their day to day lives. The first episode discusses Venezuela and Colombia.

The show demonstrates the immense beauty that those living in Venezuela and Colombia get to see on a daily basis. They live more than 1500ft above sea level, and everyday get to witness one of the most profound mountain ranges in the world.
In these regions, many of the citizens live a very rural lifestyle. They farm or raise livestock, work many blue collar jobs such as logging, as well as the way in which they live their lives is rural. Enjoying the mountains going on many hikes and enjoying many other activities such as hang-gliding over the mountain tops. One of the highlights of this episode was the woman discussing how she creates cheese using the milk from her cattle she raises.
Living in these areas while nice does have some drawbacks. Since much of the area is rural living, there is not a large amount of higher-income earning households. Many people live off of what they need, and are very self-sustaining as well. Compared to a region like the suburbs, living in an area like this could prove to be a big culture shock.
Overall, Magical Andes is a great look into many different interesting cultures that surround the Andes Mountains, and is a great watch if you would like to learn more about the lives of those who live there. It can be watched on Netflix.
