The movie I watched is called Cadaver. While watching the movie, I noticed that the cultural aspects of the characters and setting were portrayed much differently than in an American movie. By this what I mean is, that in American movies, the movie typically starts off with a bright happy vibe no matter what type of movie it is, but in this movie, which is Norwegian, it starts off very dark and gloomy surrounded by poor and homeless people. However, when the movie shifts to talking about the “rich” people, the movie then gets brighter and has more of a “happier” feeling to it.

In the movie, the people travel by walking mainly and it was very rare that anyone had a car unless they had money. The people also ate a lot of canned foods or bread because they movie takes place post-apocalypse. the main things that the characters all valued was each other and their families, and there was only one place they could go for fun which was this hotel that was also a dinner and a movie place.

I feel like most of the movie was based on social cues, economic situations and politics. In Cadaver, the “bad guys” in the movie used the poor economic situation that everyone was in against those people to lure them in to a “happier” place that they could have one night of fun at and a free hot meal. This also plays into politics because it is the hierarchy taking over the lower class and putting them under their control.
