Jill Whitney ’14 loved Stockton so much that she decided to come back after four years for her graduate degree in Communication Disorders. Jill got engaged to her boyfriend Eric Plavchak over winter break during a camping trip the two go on every year. She will be completing her program in December 2016 and plans to pursue her passion for working with children as a school-based speech-language pathologist. She hopes to one day help Stockton University students who share this same passion. Jill and Eric are planning a September 2017 wedding. They could not be more excited for the rest of their lives to begin, and are happy to share the news with their Stockton family!
Stockton alumni Brenda Brathwaite, who earned three degrees from Stockton, and Elijah Langford, who graduated in 2015, are both featured in The Press of Atlantic City in a list of ten South Jersey black leaders who offer ideas, action and change.
Jessica Lopez ’92 recently opened up her own yoga studio in North Jersey. The studio is called Bikram Yoga at the Palisades. The Bikram Series is designed for the lifestyle of today and specifically for our cultural problems of job stress, overeating, bad posture, and aggressive lifestyles. With an exact technique and a series of fixed poses, Bikram yoga brings health and peace to those who practice. Bikram Yoga at the Palisades is an official affiliate of Bikram Yoga College of India.
Glenn Carter `85, a Whippany native and Stockton graduate, went onto continue his education at Rutgers University specializing in City Planning. Recently, he was named Red Bank Green’s Director of Planning and Zoning after joining the borough on September 1, 2015
Coffee from Cooks Corner in Historic Smithville is now available in the Stockton University Campus Center Food Court by popular demand. Owner Jenna Perfetti, a 1995 Business and Marketing graduate, won a Stockton Dining poll that surveyed students about their coffee preferences. She was excited to be back on campus as a successful businesswoman today as she handed out coffee samples and talked with students. Her husband, Adam, has been roasting coffee beans and brewing unique flavors for 27 years. Jenna’s personal favorite flavors are salted caramel, Hawaiian surprise and the Peruvian.
