Dean R. Marcolongo ’81 was sworn in as 22nd Surrogate for Cape May County. Marcolongo took oath to start his five-year term on November 13th. Marcolongo received 17,045 votes Nov. 7 and 79 write-in votes.


David Hughes ’86 was named to the Greater Atlantic City Chamber’s board of directors. Hughes is also chief financial and development officer of Shore Medical Center’s. Being a graduate of Stockton University, Hughes is also on the foundation Board for Stockton University.


Robert Bennett ’93 was named the Director of Marketing and Sales for DATIS HR Cloud, Inc. on November 20, 2017. Bennet is a graduate at Stockton and earned a degree in Political Science. The CEO of DATIS HR Cloud, Erik Marsh, stated, ““Rob is a great addition to our team and we’re excited to see what he can do. His knowledge and experience of our market will be a valuable asset to DATIS as we continue to grow and improve year after year.”


Joseph DeNise ’01 (now Bhikkhu Jayasara or Bhante J), returned to Stockton University to discuss his journey of becoming a monk and much more. Shortly after he graduated college, he spent the next few years converting to Buddhism. Bhante states, “So one of the things I like to do when I talk to people is share with them my experiences and get them into practicing mindfulness while having a career and busy life.”


Joseph Diano ’13 of Manahawkin, Nj, announced his engagement to Emily Ann Truax in the Asbury Park Press on November 26th. Joseph graduated in 2013 and is employed at Holman Frenia Allison, P.C. Accounting Firm in Toms River as a staff accountant.


Michael Rienstra ’14 was one of the two new officers sworn-in to the Toms River Police Department as a patrol officer. Rienstra received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University and has worked in North Wildwood and Moorestown police departments until now.



Melissa Plasse ’16, Patrick Griggs ’16, and Nicole Goodson ’03 of the Masters Program, helped residents of Seashore Gardens on Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday: It’s Never 2 Late is a national donation drive program committed to giving back. On November 28th, interns helped Mildred Evans connect on Facebook to see her family member’s pictures and posts.
