James Raczkowski ’11 will be playing a very exciting role in the upcoming Presidential Inauguration Ceremony on September 23, 2016. Not only is James a Stockton alumnus and veteran of the US military, he is also creating the presidential portraits that will be unveiled at the inauguration of Dr. Harvey Kesselman. James Raczkowski was born and raised in suburban New Jersey. Raczkowski joined the military after graduating high school in 2004. During his service he was trained as a tanker, infantryman and later received specialized security training. From 2008-2009, Raczkowski conducted numerous special operations missions while deployed overseas. Much of his work has been influenced by the transformative events he experienced while overseas. Raczkowski completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Stockton University in 2011 and recently completed his Masters of Fine Arts degree at the New York Academy of Art in 2015. During his time at the Academy, he received the Academy Scholarship, the New Jersey Heart of a Hero Scholarship, was awarded a summer residency in Moscow, Russia and was one of six nominated for the Chubb Fellowship. His work was recently published in the acclaimed book, The Figure. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
