Alumni & Friends Support their Passion

Thank you to the many alumni and friends who continue to support their passion and areas of need at Stockton University. This year, you donated more than $20,000 to the Stockton Fund through the Student Phon-a-thon and more than $3,200 for the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program and the Science Enrichment Academy at Stockton (SEAS).

The Stockton Student Phon-a-thon

Thanks to the generous support from alumni and friends, the Stockton student-Phonathon program raised over $20,000 this year! The Phon-a-thon gives 20 student callers the chance to speak with alumni about their Stockton experience and share the many ways to stay informed, involved, and invested in Stockton. Thank you to our alumni and friends who took the time to speak with our callers, and gave back to their alma mater. Our students enjoyed speaking to many of you, and the team is grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share your personal and professional achievements, as well as your favorite aspects of the Stockton experience. There is still time to make an impact by visiting www.stockton.edu/give.

The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are growing fields of interest for our students and professionals. This spring, alumni and friends chose to support two programs within the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics: The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program and The Science Enrichment Academy.

The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) is designed to teach students how to become professional scientists by having them undertake an authentic research project. The winning experiment will be flown to the International Space Station to be completed by astronauts! Alumni and friends donated $1,745 in support of this innovative program!

The Science Enrichment Academy at Stockton (SEAS) is a two-week residential experimental learning opportunity for high school students. Participants will be involved in classroom, laboratory and field experiences to explore the sciences and gain experience gathering, measuring and analyzing data. Alumni and friends donated $1,535 in support of this innovative program!

Through the generous support of many, the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics can provide an additional $3,280 in support of these transformational academic opportunities to prepare students for successful careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

“Being a part of the first class of the Science Enrichment Academy at Stockton University was awesome. It was a chance to dive into the world of science and technology for the first time out of the classroom.” Brianna Previti, Inaugural Class of SEAS 2015
