Social Media is a big part of the world today. Although everyone has a Social Media account, you have to be careful for what you put on it. It is very easy to get fired because of inappropriate posts on social media. There are multiple ways professionals can get fired from technology.
- Not Following the Policy About Social Media: New Jersey Schools use a policy to prevent inappropriate behavior between students and teachers online. This is to make teachers as professional as possible on social media. If a teacher does not follow this policy it will result in the teacher being fired.
- Posting Inappropriate Posts About Students or Parents: An Ohio teacher was just fired for posting a SnapChat complaining about students and parents. Her post said, “These damn kids and parents…not enough money for school supplies or passing grades nut out here renting horses.” This post is referring to two students who arrived to prom in a horse and carriage. Although her statement may be true, it is still inappropriate to post something like that.
- Posting Inappropriate Pictures on Social Media: A 23 year old teacher was recently just fired from her job in Aurora, Colorado for posting inappropriate photos on Social Media. She posted topless selfies and more revealing photos. An example of one of her tweets is, “stay sexy … stay high … stay drunk”. These tweets and photos are highly inappropriate.
