Emmanuel Anyanwu is spending his Washington, D.C. internship at the National Veterans Legal Service Program, an organization he says is changing the lives of American veterans facing legal issues.
He is also learning about international development, which he hopes one day to apply to projects in Nigeria, where he was born.
“The entire Washington Center experience has been phenomenal,” said Anyanwu, a Pennsauken, NJ resident who will graduate in May. “One of my roommates traveled from Puerto Rico for the program, and I have made a close friend from Colombia,” he said. “I am picking up the Spanish language, and she is teaching me to cook. I am learning a whole new culture.”
