The modern classroom has done much evolving, thanks so much to the resources that teachers can now access, and can now use in order to make their classrooms super personalized, not only for themselves but also for their students. Incorporating online tools into daily lesson plans also breaks up the constant “eyes on me” in the classroom that students tend to get bored over. Today I am going to focus on Khan Academy and the ways that it is helpful to use in your classroom from grades K-12!
FOR STUDENTS
Khan Academy is a great tool to use in the classroom, for really any grade. It offers lessons in all different subjects, but is famously known for its lessons in all different types of maths. It uses screen casting in order for students to learn a topic or a subject in a different way in which they may have been taught. They can also create accounts in which they can track their process, and use it as a way to improve in a subject area that they are not so confident in. It is also create for high school students who are studying for ACT or SAT tests to improve on the subject areas that they are being tested on.
FOR TEACHERS
As for teachers this tool seems as though it has endless opportunities. This website lets you, as the teacher, see the progress of the students that are apart of your classroom. If you were to assign every student in your class the same practice quiz, you would be able to see each individual students successes and failures, doing that you could create small groups and focus on the strengths and weaknesses of those students as a group. This website also gives students instant feedback on the tests, quizzes, and assignments that they do. This will make the students aware of what they need to work on and what they have mastered.

LESSON PLANS
As an example of another way that you can use this website in your classroom, I had found a lesson plan that Khan Academy set up for a teacher, with different modifications that the teacher could accommodate based on the needs of the students in the classroom. This lesson plan is based on the topic “Growth Mindset”, in which it provides video, questions, group work, and even future assignments that can be used in later lessons to reiterate what was taught in the past. It also provides the teacher with an overview of the lesson and why and how it is going to be helpful for your students to learn.

Use online sources in your classroom, this will not only engage all of your students but it will also make it easier for them to become better online learners. It will open their eyes to be able to use the sources on their own time when they need help and not only in your classroom. This video is a quick tutorial on how to use Khan Academy as a teacher.
