Global Learning Case Studies

Hello! Welcome to my final blog post. This semester has been a great one and I have learned a lot from taking this course. This blog post is on the case studies from the textbook. there were two case studies that stood out to me

Case Study 4.5 Our Global Friendships

This case study was interesting to read
about. Our Global Friendships is a “small virtual community of global
collaborative educators” (Lindsay, p. 233, 2016).  Educators work together bringing ideas and
knowledge to help their students gain a better education. The efforts made by
these education leaders provides a strong foundation to students. It also encourages them to continue to make global
connections throughout their lives. Although my future plan is not to become an
educator, I hope my children as students are able to participate in global
learning outside of the classroom. I was very fortunate to travel the world
when I was younger. From that I was able to make global connections. I feel it
would benefit my children to have knowledge of what is around them to create a
better understanding

Case Study 4.7 Leigh Zeitz: Integrating the Global learning experience into teaching education

This case study was also very interesting. Leigh Zeitz has been a teacher in education for over 20 years . He believes that creating situations where students are engaged in working together across the globe.” He believes that when they realize the connections between people are just a lick away it becomes part of their lives.” ( Lindsay, p 235,2016).  I agree with Zeitz. I feel students understand more when they get to experience for themselves. When they find something interesting and can make a connection they can become more involved. Leitz has involved his pre-service teacher students in collaborative opportunities. This is a good experience for new teachers so they get to experience global collaborations and learn how to incorporate with their students.

All the case studies in the textbook were awesome. I love reding them all.

Thank you for reading my blog post. Hopfully I will come back to it every now and then.
