Virtual Reality in the Classroom

This week’s blog explores the world of virtual reality (VR). Virtual reality can be an excellent benefit in the classroom! I pretty much know what Virtual Reality is since my son has a pair of VR glasses for gaming. Although I was not aware of all the different types of VR there are.

What is Virtual Reality?

Google Cardboard in the Classrooms

  • Google Cardboard is the VR tool developed by Google which allows people to explore different settings and express their imaginations. Google Cardboard is a compatible app where you can place your phone in the viewer. It can be synced with many apps such as Google Expeditions. This app allows students to see the world around them by opening up their eyes and minds to what is outside of the classroom.

Advantages of VR in the Classroom

  • educators and students remain up-to-date with technology in the classroom
  • culture appreciation
  • increases student engagement
