Exploring the Case Studies
As my final blog post of the semester, I will be looking into some of the case studies from The Global Educator: Leveraveraging Technology for Collaborative Learning & Teaching in the chapter “Take Learning Global Case Studies”. From all of these case studies, I chose two that stood out to me and reflected on them a bit.
Case Study 4.2 – The Learning2 Conference
The first case study that I chose was The Learning2 Conference. According to the textbook, this is an “innovative, engaging and constantly evolving face-to-face conference with a focus on leveraging technology to support learning globally” (Lindsay, 2016). At this conference, international educators in Asia meet and give presentations. I found this to be an amazing concept when I was reading it, and one that I would one day like to participate in. These “talks” at the conference are not all serious and very engaging. The idea of the “talks” at this conference reminds me a lot of TED Talks,

Case Study 4.5 – Our Global Friendships
The next case study that caught my eye is Our Global Friendships. This a virtual collaborative community of educators. The textbook says it “is a community of practice for the purpose of learning with and from each other” (Lindsay, 2016). This community interacts with each other via Skype and shares their ideas and opinions. In the future, I think this would be a great thing for me to be a part of. Having a community of educators to learn from, would be so beneficial to me being a new teacher. I think that all educators can benefit from having a supportive group to share ideas with and receive feedback from.
