My Twitter Experiences so Far

My thoughts on Twitter…

Before taking this class, I just saw Twitter as a way to look at funny memes and keep up on the latest celebrity drama. But now, my thoughts on Twitter have completely changed. I see Twitter as a way to connect with others and share ideas. I think everyone can benefit from using Twitter because there is so much knowledge to be acquired on it.

How have these social media space conversations affected the way I think about learning?

These social media space conversations have shown me that learning can be done by connecting with others online. . If used correctly, social media can be used as a platform to ask questions and share information. Because of this, I think there are so many opportunities to learn on social media. For example, Twitter allows for college students to reach out to professional in their desired field to ask question and look at their ideas.

Have I learned anything significant?

On Twitter, I have learned how to properly engage with professionals in an online forum. I have learned just how great of a resource social media could be! Because I have created a PLN, every time I look at my Twitter feed I saw professionals sharing ideas and educational resources. Here is an example!

Reflection on my Twitter chats…

At first, I did not even know what Twitter chats were, and when I looked into what they were… I am not going to lie, I was not thrilled. However, when I participated in my first Twitter chat (#1stchat) I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable participating in these chats can be. I found that Twitter chats are a great way to connect with educators all around the world. The educators that I have encountered in these chats have been so helpful and informative. Everyone participating in the chat converses with one another and shares ideas, views, and experiences.
