Sharing knowledge, believeing in a flat classroom, is starting to be the single most transformitive idea of the late 20th century. We can all agree in the importance behind collaborating at a global level. As we venture down this relatively new road, we also begin to see ways to make it better. We begin to explore ways in which we can take global collaboration to the next level. Enter global virtual collaboration!
What is global virtual collaboration? This is like global colloboration 2.0. It is not only using tools to connect with one another temporarily and then using asynchronous communications later (like emails) to complete a thought or project. Global virtual collaboration offers all of the above instantly! No more talking about it but walking about it!
From an IT standpoint, finding a solution to any given problem is crucial in order for other team members to meet deadlines and complete projects. To any given problem within IT there are usually dozens of ways to fix to them but only a few are usually a true solution. While virtually collaborating with other team members in another state or country, we could use tools like Ultra-Board to not only communicate but also visually show how one solution may be better than another.
The power of virtual collaboration is providing everyone the option to not only share their ideas but also view and interact with ideas of the team simultaneously. It’s the equivalent of using one enormous computer screen and every team member being able to huddle around it. The benefits in productivity and time savings equals huge returns for team members and the company.
