This week we take a look at the amazing journy by National Geographic’s Paul Salopek in the Out of Eden Walk. Paul’s journy is an attempt at tracing the steps of the first humans out of Africa, into the middle east, down to southern asia and eventually Australia.
Along the way he documents via film his many experiences and shares them with the world. Not only are you able to follow his every steps but even get 360 views of the many towns he visits. For me the first stop that really grabbed my attention was the visiting the Silk Road!
The Silk Road will forever be a part of history as it was the world first super highway. It connected the east with the west and all sorts of goods were traded. I particularly enjoyed Paul’s visit to the Ganish Fort in Pakistan. This fort encapsulates everything about the Silk Roads that we feel is important. It is extremely old, prior to the Zoroastrians, and shows asian designs in a now Islamic region.
