This week I will share my experience in putting together my very first digital story. The first hurdle was to get to know several tools that will enable me to tell my story. I wish there was only one tool, easy right? But no, there are dozens! Over all most offer the same general idea but once you get granular, they can be vastly different from one another.

After looking at Sharalike, Photopeach, Adobe Spark, and Sutori I came upon Animoto. This particual tool offered just what I wanted and presented it in a way that I was comfortable with. It was user friendly and did not take much to get up and running. One down side is that it cannot be shared without a paid subscription, however there are ways around that.

My next hurble was, what story would I tell? I have thousands but do I really want to share just any story? Probably not. Finding a story that I would be comfortable sharing, interesting, good ending, and rated PG consisted of a lot of variables.

I know, I will share my experience of moving back to the “motherland” when I was much younger. I’ve always known that we were from the Dominican Republic and had visited there numerous times. However, it was not until I moved there at the age of 10 that I really began to appreciate the island for all its beauty!
